Never thought I’d miss dogwoods until looking at your pics… In the house I grew up in there was the most beautiful tree that started out as one white and one pink that were planted too close together and grew into one…
What is the flower in the 4th pic (green leaves w/tiny white flowers)?

That is Sweet Woodruff (Galium odoratum). It’s a lovely little ground cover in the shade garden.

The dogwood is actually our neighbor’s, but it hangs over our yard so I could reach up and get a photo of it. We have three Kousa dogwoods, and they are later blooming.

  2. Beautiful! And fast. I still don’t have Mr. Linky working right, as everyone (including me) has to click on the Mr. Linky icon to get a separate box. But then you and Daphne show up on the inserted box. Daphne is going to help me get my Mr. Linky to work like hers. Technology. Ick.

I walk in my garden and delight in the flowers, then come inside and blog so I can delight in other folks’ flowers! There are worse addictions. Your photos are beautiful. I love those huge dogwood blooms!

Lovely. Those dogwood blooms are enormous! The shot of the dogtooth violets is my favorite. 🙂
