Today I though I would share some of the blooming things we have here in early April. First up is our flowering cherry tree. It’s loaded with big pink blossoms.
Also pink, one of our azalea bushes is particularly full this year. It’s in shade for most of the day but not this morning.
Down lower to the ground, the lamium is blooming now. I believe this one is called Silver Beacon.
A wild relative, the purple deadnettle is also blooming everywhere you look.
And where you see deadnettle, you often see henbit. We’ve got them both! Our mild winter has made fields turn purple, at least until the farmers start working them.
Also down low we have lots of sweet violets blooming, in shades of purple and white.
Up a bit higher, the blueberries are starting to bloom. They aren’t quite as showy now, but the berries that come later will be lovely indeed, as well as tasty.
And even higher up, the pie cherry trees are almost done blooming. We might get enough for a cobbler this year if we are lucky!
I hope you have enjoyed this look at some of the blooms of April here at Happy Acres. I’ll be back soon with more happenings!
Flowering cherries are spectacular at this time of year
So pretty, thanks for sharing!
Beautiful blooms 🙂 I was surprised by the blueberry blossoms as I can’t say that I’ve actually ever seen them before.
