The temperature got up into the 70s this afternoon, and I’m calling it a heat wave. It’s definitely warmer than normal for this time in March. And it’s just now spring ! The missus and I took advantage of the weather and got out and did a little yard work.
After raking away some leaves that had blown in over the winter, we found that the hostas by the front walk are puttin’ up their first shoots. It won’t be long before they are leafed out. Can you say ‘deer salad’? Normally they leave the ones out front alone, but with over a dozen in the herd now, they might not escape grazing this year.
Even though we haven’t officially ‘opened’ up the screened in porch yet, we did open the door and let the furkids out for a bit of fresh air. Sidd took to it like a duck takes to water!
Puddin’ preferred a shady spot under a chair, though she’s too antsy to stay in one place for long. So much to stimulate a kitty’s senses!
Me, I’m pretty well ready to relax and put my feet up. It’s either spring fever, or else the Supermoon got me last night!
I think it was spring fever….I see the kit-kats have it too!!
I hope that your warm weather arrives here in a day or two!!
Ha…and here I am doing everything possible to try and get our house up to around 70° so that everything will germinate. Enjoy that nice weather. 🙂
What a wonderful warm spurt! We reached 68 on Friday in Southern Maine. Luckily, I had the day off from work and was able to enjoy some of it.
Wow! I love it! We had a very nice day today and I got a ton done- finally. I’m gonna be sore tomorrow! I’m drooling over your lettuce header picture- Yummy!
I wish you would send some of the warm weather here. Our average high for this time of year is supposed to be 49-50, but instead we have been getting in the thirties and forties. And for the weekend we are supposed to get lows in the teens. Brrr. I think you stole our spring.
