I’m interrupting my usual programming today because it’s a special occasion – our 5th wedding anniversary! It’s hard to believe that it’s been five years already since Lynda and I got married. This will be the first time in several years that we’re actually going to be at home to celebrate. Last year we were on vacation in New Mexico and Colorado. We celebrated our anniversary at the Los Poblanos Inn in Albuquerque, NM. We had a nice dinner at the inn, after spending the afternoon at the nearby Petroglyph National Monument. It was a great day.

Today I thought I would share a few photos from the wedding day back in 2007. We kept the ceremony fairly simple, with a few close friends helping us out. Lynda’s good friend Ray gave her away.

There were some lighter moments during the ceremony, like when the preacher pointed out that the bride and the groom ‘both have pasts’. The whole church broke out in laughter at that, and so did we.

And before you knew it, we were married, and there was no turning back! Here we are walking down the aisle together. For those of you who know me in ‘real’ life, you know I am usually a much more casual dresser. It takes a lot to get me to wear a tie – something like my own wedding perhaps!

We’re going to celebrate tonight with a nice dinner out at someplace special. And I’ll close by saying I am a lucky man to be married to the love of my life. It took me 50+ years to find her, and now the best is still truly yet to come!
